Employee Volunteer Work
Community service is ingrained in Washington Financial Bank's culture, as many of our employees volunteer their time and talents to help local organizations. Here's a quick look at some of the ways our employees are making a difference in our community.
Relay for Life
The Relay for Life has become a popular event among our employees, as many sign up to walk the track, gather sponsorships, and participate in a variety of other fundraising activities. The Relay for Life benefits the American Cancer Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives by helping people get well, finding cures, and fighting back.
Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon
Once a year, employees lace up their bowling shoes for the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon. This event is the main fundraiser for JA and helps fund programs in many Washington County schools. JA programs match students with business leaders to provide hands-on lessons about the real world. Together, they show students how to generate and effectively manage wealth, create jobs to make their communities more robust, and apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
Every year United Way has a Golf Outing to Kick-off its Campaign year. Along with some great rounds of golf, participants celebrate with lunch and a chance to win great prizes. Washington Financial staff members traditionally volunteer for this event which helps raise funding for non-profit organizations within Washington County.
